Alice and Marianna have started the Starlight Cantonese Opera Performing Centre with the mission to continue the cultural heritage of Cantonese Opera in Canada. Driven by passion, they were determined to pass on the arts to the next generation. Since 2010 they started giving weekly classes to the kids. The kids whom they nicknamed as Starlets were trained to sing and act despite of their limited Chinese reading and writing skills. Now they have established a young students group which they will perform annually in Toronto. Alice and Marianne are pioneers and founded the first Cantonese opera training school for kids in Ontario.
