The first Hongkong- born female Chinese Canadian MP elected to the House of Commons in 2006. She was the New Democratic Party MP for the riding Trinity Spadina, Ontario from 2006 to 2014. Olivia’s husband is the late Jack Layton, Leader of Official Opposition in 2011.
